Spirit Helpers
Ghost River above Earth. Middle Son and Mother, the Navigator and Midwife, are dissolving outer structures so that a new group can appear on the inner field. Reorganize the way you are thinking and the people with whom you are connected. Find what and who you belong with. Get to the heart of the matter. Things are coming at you from all sides, demanding that you consider them. Do not put them off.  This can be an ever-flowing source of new energy. Compare and sort things according to their kind. Make your connection to things and people clear. This is not a soothing time. Relationships are dissolving and re-forming. Let delight, harmony and pleasure be a key. Give everything a place. Connect your ideas to underlying support. You must change now. If you put it off, the Way will close.

Voice of the Mothers
Change the way you think and the way you see your connection with others. This is the emergence of a new order. Work at the new connections. Inner devotion now brings you the ability to manage the flow and flux of events. Ascend to a higher level through your own efforts (46).Do not focus on penetrating the situation in order to help others (57).

Grouping shows a new time that emerges after a flood, a war or a time of chaos. It is the moment when Yu the Great brought the spirits and the lords together after taming the underworld waters and the new gathering after King Wu’s armies had conquered Shang, the moment when the spirits and lords (shen) gather around a new chief. This ritual gathering of energies is expressed as a masked dance of all the animal powers that combines instruction, invocation and the investing of new powers. It further represents a pi-sacrifice to the female ancestors and alludes to men and women joining at the River-Mountain festival, the great feast and celebration that affirms the community of humans and spirits and invites the souls to return. Stories of great labor, sacrifice and determination lie behind this gathering and the sacrifice of the Late Man it represents. After Yu tamed the waters and established the Way, he called a grouping of the lords and spirits together on Mao Shan, a sacred mountain, to assign the fiefs and help the people. Feng-fang, the demon of the past season and the past time, deliberately held back and was late. Yu killed him, beheaded his corpse and sent his spirit to the limits of the world to stand guard against the return of the corrupt old order. The Ghost River then flowed peacefully, becoming an ever-flowing source like the oracles that nourish all.

Winter (8): Find the seed of the new by re-grouping your thoughts. Lay out a plan and integrate it with core values.
Spring (3): Rouse new growth by starting again. Free yourself from old entanglements. This leads to a breakthrough.
Summer (42): Ripen the fruits by increasing involvements. Correct mistakes before they spread. Don’t fall into negative feelings.
Fall (20): Harvest the crop by seeking the signs of a new era as they manifest. Compare what you have against what you need. The armies are set to begin, so don’t impede them with outmoded thinking.

Voice of the Fathers
This is a Realizing Figure, part of a Zone of Radical Transformation when the Ghost River emerges from the Earth Altar to change the face of the world. It is a Mission of the stage of the Symbolic Life when the child seeks to create a world in which to discover a self.

The Situation: Coordinating people around a common goal, catalyzing commitment and inspiring timely action.

Caring for Others: To form a new group you must develop the ideas and strength to attract the right people.  Have a clear idea of who you want.  Those who are truly motivated will join you. The most important factor is a real commitment to the basic ideas.

Communication and Interaction: The right leader surrounded by the right people will make the plan work. Make decisions through full consultation. First priority is to establish the team by considering the personalities involved.

Setting Intentions: Establish an open communication system. Maximum consultation is necessary at the beginning. Decisions must be made on objective considerations not subjective attitudes. Be confident about your own competence and trust the ability of others. Offer positive feedback.

Change from the Inside Out: New beginnings are directly dependent on the quality of leadership. A sense of direction is central. Test the ground for expansion. Seek co-operation. Be sure of commitments. Make sure all agreements are clear and equitable.

Step 2 Inner Center: This inner re-organization leads to harmony with others.

You are at the center of this group. Gather the people and do not let the connection slip through your fingers. Get rid of old ideas and bad memories. There is no need to add more. Conflict has broken out and you must engage whether you like it or not. This is an important transition. Adapt to the new situation that confronts you.  Be open and provide what is needed. Step 3 Threshold: This inner re-balancing lets you make your way in life.
Grouped with the victims! Trap! The Way closes.
You are involved with the wrong people. The armies must retreat now but have no fear.  Splitting from your current partners will re-connect you to the spirit. Difficulties are going and the reverse is coming. Step outside the norms and re-imagine the situation. Gather energy for a decisive new move. (39 Limping/Difficulties)

Outer World

Step 4 Arrival: This inner preparation leads to what is greater.
Outside the Group. Trial: Wise Words! The Way is open.
You are outside this group because of your real moral and intellectual worth. Stick to your values and you can influence things. Old memories and useless ideas will defeat you now if you let them. The way to something great opens from here. Proceed slowly and surely. Gather energy for a decisive new move. (45 Gathering)

Step 5 Outer Center: This inner re-grouping lets your real purpose shine.
Illustrious Grouping! The King uses beaters on three sides of the hunt.
He lets the game go that runs before him,
The capitol’s people are not frightened away. Wise Words! The Way is open.
You are at the center of a well-organized force and have received a command to carry out your plans. Going through with this will change your life. There is no need to rehearse or repeat things now. Do not try to coerce people. Let your virtue and compassion shine. Act freely and generously and these hidden processes will lead to enduring new connections. Be open and provide what is needed. This group has no goal and no purpose. Be sure the rules you have set are not obstructing your real power. A connection to the spirit is nearing. Let go of the old and measure things against the ideal of the Realizing Person who seeks to live in the flow.
